Who was Arsenal's Man of the Match v Kiev

I don't know whether to be deflated or elated after last night's match - getting a point at the death is an achievement but we should have been out of sight by that stage.

For me, Theo Walcott stood out again as the key player, and I'm very very excited by the future with him in it. Sign him up soon, Arsene, please!

But there were other impressive players - Kolo Toure tried to take the game by the scruff of the neck, William Gallas came up with another goal when we needed it most and Alex Song was all over the place, hinting that his credentials as a dcent member of the squad are now secured.

So what do you think?

I thought Song was poor, he commited too many rusty tackles and was not positionally as well as he should be. The midfield was terrible in my opinion.

the midfeild was bad but song was the best on the pitch at the time. As soon as he went of we were all over the place

well played song

Song played very well, believe me. In fact when he left, there were gaping holes in midfield. His reading of the game was superb. All he needs is a little bit of pace and he would be one of the best.
Theo was the best player, but I hope he's rested for at least 70 minutes on saturday. U cant get hammered for two games in succession and fail to pick up an injury.

I disagree John, Song was poor. He doesn't cut it in a team like arsenal. he made clumsy fouls and gave simple balls away, however was energetic - he was like a poor mans Flamini. There were gaping holes in midfield, mainly due to his lack of understanding of position. he looks rash and a liability.

If we win at The Reebok on the weekend it will have been an excellent seven days. 2 wins and a draw from those 3 away games would be a very good return and if we had to draw one i'd rather it be ast night than either of The remiershi games.

We should have won. Adebayor's 1st half miss is almost unforgivable. In the centre of the goal and less than 18 yeards out there is no excuse not to hit the target. The fiish was woeful and i thought his overall performance was poor.

Theo malways looked dangerous and i admire his determination to keep his feet when challenged. His cross for the goal was undefendable, world class.

We should have won the game but we could've gone 2 down shortly before our goal if it wasn't for the lack of any intellegence from their striker when they had 2 on 1. Clichy done well to win it back but in all honesty he should never have been given the chance so with that in mind i'm happy and a win on Saturday will cement that.

I thought Song was absolutely brilliant! Yes he made some mistakes, but otherwise I thought he did well to break up the play of Kiev! I think that the midfield trio of Cesc, Denilson & Song can develop (this year still) into one of the greatest midfield combinations the premiership has ever seen. Once Cesc finds some form, I expect big things!

why not vote for Eboue? guess not many can seen the difference he brought to our side's attacking mentality when he was brought on.

he sucks at time, but this season sees a great improvement in him. with he around, theo n others immediately have spaces to position around.

my vote for him in that game.

You might say it was Gallas because of the goal; and he did make up for his defensive error that set up the penalty. Walcott was really poor, but did set up the assist. He did do a good job of dealing with the physicality but made little use of his speed and wasn't very dangerous. But when you consider how little Cesc touched the ball because of the attention he received, I have to say that Denilson was consitently the best player for Arsenal in the game and he picked up the slack for Cesc.

Gallas was rubbish, did you see his defending in the second half? He's a defender first and he was awful at that. Walcott and Song are the only contenders in my mind.

I thought Song was immense we really needed him you could see how sloppy at the back without him protesting the back four. Gallas was more than poor at times i thought Clichy wasn't his usual self. I was pleased to see Ade's work rate really glad we have him.

September 18, 2008 | Unregistered Commentercorkgooner

Why does everyone give Gallas such a hard time
The fact IS we have only conceded two goals (one which was a joke) in the whole season
He also has scored some vital goals for us and is developing a knack for scoring in big games (Man U last year)
Also, despite Adebyor's chances he worked his socks off and was integral in any forward thrust - like the goal we scored.

Eboue was my man of the match. His aggressive drive forward brought change Arsenal'sgame and eventually contributed to the equalizer. Alcott tried very hard, but with two sometimes three defenders surrounding him everytime he has the ball, makes it very hard to make an impression. That's where the FB comes in to take advantage of the gaps. Sagna couldn't;so it was left to Eboue to exploit the spaces. Which he done very well, attacking with verve and speed.

Even though hate his guts gallas was man of the match simply because he saved our blushes.

Eboue played a big part in salvaging that game. Totally underrated and over-abused.
