« Ten things you probably didn't need to know about Hull City | Main | What the papers say: It's all about Wilshere and Vela today »

Should Carlos Vela start against Hull on Saturday?

One thing I’ve noticed while enjoying T*tt*nh*m’s predictable struggle over recent weeks was how quickly players have been incorporated into their team.

Despite his goal against the might of Newcastle last night, Roman Pavlyuchenko has looked worth at least £12,000 and after his moaning about the speed and passion of the Premiership, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him have as glittering a career in England as Sergey Rebrov.

Of course, Arsène Wenger introduced Samir Nasri to the side for our first Premiership game, but two goals in three Premiership matches says it all for the winger.

We’ll find out later today whether Nasri is fit again after getting injured for France and I fully expect Theo Walcott to be unleashed against Hull City.

Manu Eboue played one of his best games for the club on the left of midfield against Bolton last week but is he the long term option there?

The names on everyone’s lips this week have been Carlos Vela and Jack Wilshire, and justifiably so.

While Wilshire still has a way to go before he can expect to figure in the Premiership on a regular basis, the same cannot be said for Vela.

If he’s good enough to take Real Madrid apart and good enough to be a centre-forward for the senior Mexico team, he’s good enough for us.

So with a tricky Champions League game against Porto coming up, why not let him start against Hull?

I can’t see Manu Adebayor being dropped and after his lacklustre start to the season, perhaps a confidence-boosting display against Hull is exactly what Robin van Persie needs to get into his rhythm.

So why not let Walcott start on the right and play Vela on the left, where he shone for Osasuna last season?

There’s no doubt his future is as a centre-forward, but in order to really get used to the pace and pressure of the Premiership, an outing against Hull at home while his confidence is up is just what Vela deserves after his stellar performance against Sheffield United.

What do you think? Vote now!

vela should start as a striker and not left wing . if fit nasri should be left wing . rvp should be rested on the bench for the second weekend and only come on if vela fails to shine . walcott should be right wing . looks like song might be injured but denilson deserves to keep his place with perhaps ramsey getting a chance off the bench sometime in the second half . clichy hope he's fit , otherwise gibbs looks an able deputy and it would be nice to see him get some first team experiance .

you guys are getting carried away..he is an excellent striker but he will start on the bench where he belongs and RVP & TOGONATOR will start. Vela will propably come in 65-70mins like he should.Wenger will slowly intergrate him into the team and not get carry away by the hat-trick..Don't forget RVP has also score in 3 or the last games in which he has played. I think we're spoiled with strikers at the moment..whats going to happen when Eduardo comes back?

Yeah, Ade and RvP need to play on the weekend so the sharp for PORTO. Bendtner or Vela will prob come off the bench. But If Nasri isnt fit, I would like to see Theo and Vela on the wings.

I would like him to start with the Togonator. But I think both RvP and the Togonator will start. having said that, I think Wenger may be hoping for a 3-0 at around the 60 minute mark where he can blood Vela for a good half hour.

Give the kid some team because english premier league is all new level.bIT intesive for him so get him on the second half if arsenal is leading get van off and he will partner ade.I also think that bendther should get on the rough game for van because of his strengtH.Vela maybe in other competions like champions league and the cups.premier league little too early.

We have lots of options time for first chioce paring of Robin and Ade to start putting in the chances they get as they both now have serious compatition from Nik and Carlos which is a great thing to have
I would play Nik and Vela upfront against Hull

Who needs an Arabian sugar daddy when we have Sheik Al-Arsene El-Wenger ?. I was at the emirates against Sheffield and boy, it was better than sex !

I think Vela and Bendy should start this one. I think one of the main reasons we faultered last season was due to RvP being out. There is going to be plenty of games and playing time to go around if we stay in all of the competitons. Esp. around Christmas. RvP and Ade won't lose their spots but we need to have them at their best all season!

Not true at all.

if Vela starts then what happens to RVP. Wenger wont rest him for 3 games. and Vela and RVP wont starttogether.
