Ten things you probably didn't need to know about Hull City
There are a little over 48 hours before Arsenal host Premier League newcomers Hull City on Saturday, so in the interests of doing some research on our opponents, I've trawled through wikipedia and even the club's official website to give you some stats.
The bottom line is that we have to hammer more than eight past them to break a 97-year-old record, but that their record crowd was just over 55,000 nearly 60 years ago, so Saturday's crowd at the Emirates Stadium might just prove enough to intimidate their players, thus ensuring that they don't beat their record victory of 11-1.
Here are my 10 fascinating Hull City facts..
1. The club was formed in 1904.
2. Their record win was as 11–1 win against Carlisle United in division three back in 1939.. Their heaviest defeat in the league was 8–0 against Wolves in 1911.
3. They are not lucky with injuries: Andy Davidson broke his right leg in a practice match, his left leg in his 13th league match - and repeated the injury nine months later while playing for Hull's ‘A’ team.
4. A crowd of 55,019 packed into Boothferry Park to see the FA Cup sixth round match against Manchester United in 1949, the club's record attendance.
5. Their best run in the FA Cup came in 1930 when they reached the semi-finals.
6. Their worst sequence of form came in 1989 when they went without a win from March to November – a total of 29 games.
7. The club’s nickname, The Tigers, is down to their traditional amber and black shirt colours.
8. The club’s current ground, the KC Stadium, is the 4th in their history – having already been based at The Boulevard , Anlaby Road and Boothferry Park.
9. Despite his habit of breaking his legs, Andy Davidson holds the record for Hull City league appearances, having played 520 matches.
10. Hull’s record signing is Anthony Gardner, whom the club signed from Tottenham at the start of this season.

You forgot to mention who Hull City went out in the FA Cup to in the 1930 semi final. The ref spoiled the game, sonothing changes!

The first ever penalty shootout in England in a professional match took place in 1970 at Boothferry Park, Hull between Hull City and Manchester United during the semi-final of the Watney Cup, and was won by Manchester United. The first player to take a kick was George Best, and the first to miss was Denis Law. Ian McKechnie, the Hull City goalkeeper, was therefore the first goalkeeper to save a penalty in a penalty shootout and he was also the first goalkeeper to take the deciding kick, but missed, blasting the ball over the bar and putting Hull City out of the Watney Cup.
Hull City played in front of a bigger crowd than the one that will be at the Emirates when they won the play-off final in May. It was the biggest play-off crowd yet and they weren't intimidated.
