okey dokey
hangeland is an oversized donkey who is nowhere near good enough for arsenal. his clubfoot display when arsenal beat fulham a few weeks ago proved that beyond doubt. he also has no ambition so should stay at nice little fulham. this story is rubbish.
Maybe Hangeland isn't the answer, but I think Vermalean's displays give food for thought that he could be moved up to midfield (a la Petit). Denilson's injury is a blessing in disquise and it would be a backward step to put him back in. If we play a three, I think Nasri should partner Cesc & Song, and once Song is away for the African nations the Verminator but be a great foil for our no.s 4 & 8. I think our cash crisis has passed and the club were right to reign in spending until we had turned the corner so lets hope January will see a class CB or DM.
Keep in mind Wenger says Song's natural position is CB. If we add a quality DM, Song instantly gives us cover at both positions, cover that we really need. Playing Vermaelen further up the pitch would fill the position, but at the expense of the best central defensive pairing we've had in years. Keep Vermaelen where he is, add a DM (maybe Matuidi, Inler, or Cabaye) and Song gives us cover should Gallas or Vermaelen get injured. Hangeland shouldn't even be considered anymore, really, as he seems like an older and wiser Senderos. Big, slow, and not a good fit for the Arsenal system.
