"I was there. I witnessed it," says Hull boss Brown. So was I Phil and your team were the disgrace, not Fabregas
Phil Brown claims that Arsenal's goal should not have counted because William Gallas was two yards offside. Arsene Wenger says that because the Hull keeper knocked the ball on, Willie was onside.
Brown says Arsene clashed in the tunnel at half time with his assistant Brian Horton. Wenger says nothing of the kind happened.
Brown says Cesc Fabregas spat at Horton at the final whistle. Our skipper categorically denies this and says he would welcome an FA investigation.
And here's the clincher: Brown says, "Our gameplan wasn't time-wasting."
So who is the liar Phil? You or Arsenal?...
The only disgrace I saw on the pitch at Emirates last night was the pathetic time wasting by Hull City - from the kick off - and yet another instance of a Premier League team forgetting that us paying customers actually attend games to be entertained.
While I'm making my point about fantasist Phil, he also had the temerity to accuse Le Gaffer of getting Hull goalie Boaz Myhill booked. I'm afraid your match instructions to waste as much time as possible did that for you Phil.
Unsurprisingly, when Arsenal eventually took a deserved lead, the Hull players ended their time wasting tactics, but it was too little too late for the Tigers, despite them even delivering the ball back to the Gunner players each time we won a free kick.
The bottom line is that Cesc says he didn't spit at anyone and after such blatant lies from Brown, I know who I believe and I hope that any FA investigation will force the Hull boss to apologise should they find that Fab 4 has no case to answer.
In the meantime, Arsenal face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley in a month's time. Hull, on the other hand, can concentrate on their battle to avoid relegation. On the evidence of last night I now hope that they are unsuccessful as I cannot see what they offer in terms of entertainment.

That Phil Brown is a nasty piece of work just like his fat cousin.
twat
TIME WASTING IN THE 15th MINUTE!!!!!!! I ve never seen anything like it....and browns dummy spitting interview after just lowered my opinion of hull city even more!!!! I know Mr wenger has thrown the odd post match paddy in seasons past..but come on...blaming everything EXCEPT his own bullshit negative tactics!!!!! Chin up Phil, you ve more time to focus on ya relegation battle now!!!
phi browns story keeps changing firstly its on the pitch that fab spits at the time wasters assistants feet then later its in the tunnel at his face which is it sam sorry phil? the other thing is he can't make his mind up weather he witnessed it or not!!!!!!
Whilst I agree Phil Brown is a lying tosser, you can't really blame the guy for trying to timewaste.
You don't pay to be entertained, you pay to watch a game of football fully aware that if you're playing a bunch of northern shitkickers, you'll get some northern shitkickery antics.
Hull aren't a good team, and when they were lucky enough to be in front away from home in an FA Cup Qtr Final, they had to time waste.
But yes, Phil Brown is a lying shit of a cunt, and if Cesc did spit at his asst. or him then shame on Cesc, what was he thinking? He should've twatted the cunt in the face with a brick.
What an utter utter load of boll***s!
Never heard/ read such nonsense in my life!
He was off side, even the Setanta commentary team were unanimous on that.
The spitting incident is a moot point. The officials won the game for you. End of!
Hull must be relegated now. They disgust me.
Are you really so biased that you can't admit that your winner was offside? We know your manager can't bring himself to admit it, but you needn't compound his meffery by doing the same.
Positive football 1, time wasting 0.
They were timewasting, the goal was offside and Fabregas spat at Ballack when we played Bayern at Highbury
WTF are you shower of southern bed wetters on about? Really, it's comical to say the least.
I watched the game, it was a blatant off side.
Your manager's a sad cunt, and you lot obviously feel the need to emulate him.
Completely agree, think we should spam the message boards with the truth, I saw Wenger wait for Brown but he was busy trying to influence officials so wenger left for the dressing room. and to be honest, from all the pitch side pictures you can see the assistant laying into Cesc as the leave the pitch...
Hull made twats of themselves last night but have the advantage of a vast amount of anti Arsenal hyperbole that is evident at the moment...Sky and the Sun (both riddled with Spuds) have an agenda at the moment...time all us Gooners united, baton down the hatches and get behind our team coz it must appear to them that EVERYBODY, including some of our own, are against them...
Well said! It was pathetic from Hull last night and anyone that pays their money to watch a game of football, or pays their subscription fees to Setanta should ask Hull for a refund! It was from the fifteenth minute onwards and it was ridiculous!
Seems to me you are just as bad as both Wenger or Brown as you see things from only your own point of view. Goal was offside. Hull slowed the game down, this is not unique for visiting sides at the Emirates, why ever would Hull play at the pace that suits Arsenal rather than them? Fabrigas has a history of over reaction it is therefore entirely possible that he spat at Horton, the FA will try and sort it based on the facts not favouritism. What seems to be the main issue out of this match is why we have to continue to put up with inept officials who have too greater influence over the outcome of matches due to poor decisions or as with Riley being too handy with yellow cards.
To filthyMcnast and Mr Lewis...watch the replay you thick inbreeds...JDs header is deflected off your Goalkeepers hand...therefore new phase of play and Gallas can't be offside.
'Southern Bedwetter' I dare you, no in fact I double dare you to come say that to my face!!
i cant believe the cheek of the man when the ref missd so many fouls on arsenal players, particularly in the 1st half, that even the commentators were calling it strange!
i wouldnt call hull's *team* a disgrace
time-wasting aside they played quite fairly - id rather teams time-waste than try to injure our players or break up play with constant fouling as some other sides have done
they defended well and i felt genuinely worried at times when they hit us on the counter
brown on the other hand has made a complete nob of himself
but yes i felt the winner was offside, almost everyone else has said the same
its fortunate for us, and if it happened the other way round, then of course wenger would be complaining about the officiating
for brown to claim the ref's wer influenced is bollocks tho, the goal was a linesman mistake, and the ref was largely on hull's side (missing a number of obvious fouls) until near the end when the time-wasting damage was done
Mr Impartial! Ha ha. You can't just say something like "Fabregas has a history of overreacting therefore he might be guillty" and expect to be taken seriously. Three-quarters of the nation would be behind bars according to your system of justice! And if you are going to drag up allegations or incidents from the past, you must qualify them.
I saw the goal, it probably was offside, but either the linesman missed it or he thought the goalie knocked it forward. What's the big deal? Officials get decisions wrong all the time - it's been a while since a mistake went Arsenal's way so it's abut time things began to even out. Statistically speaking it is inevitable that we will get a few more of these before the season's out, so brace yourselves!
Willie's goal was not offside as the ball was knocked on by the goal keeper.... after djouru put his head to the ball. The keeper touching the ball last made the goal valid...
The goal was offside.
But we should have had a penalty, and they should have been punished for the time wasteing earlier.
These things tend to even out in the end, and Hull endured enough luck while beating us at home last time.
If Cesc didn't spit, he should sue Phil Brown.
matt - on fabregas spitting at ballack
i watched that video a few times earlier
if he had spat, the ref was a few feet away and only booked him for the foul/attitude towards ballack, he would have been off
i like ballack as a player but he does dive a bit, and wouldnt think twice about getting someone sent off
The end result is that AFC are in the semifinals and you are not. Offside or not, spitting or not, etc etc etc you are fighting relegation. So shut up and try to do the job you were entrusted with when you won promotion.......to try and make up the numbers and not get relegated.
***BREAKING NEWS**** ARSENAL FC SCORE THE FIRST DUBIOUS WAS HE/WASNT HE OFFSIDE GOAL EVER!!!!!! i think not!!! Hull tried to hang on to a 1-0 lead....IT BACKFIRED....THE BETTER TEAM WON......END OF!!!!!! now chin up phil and the rest of you "tigers"
AndyB. LOL. Grow up m8.
If you take every game of every season since football began there will be atrocious decisions for and against you every season. They probably even themselves out in the long run. Doesn't make you feel good at the time when it's bad but if an offside goal keeps Hull in the premiership will we hear so much as a meow from them tigers
i would have hated to go out to that shitty deflected shot as well
After having watched that clip over and over again, Gallas headed in from a flick on from Hull's GK. If he was off-side before this flick on then I suppose the goal should not have stood. But hey, tough!! Hull deserved to be knocked out as their game plan was to frustrate and time waste once they luckily scored.
On our part, we must learn to come out of the blocks with all guns blazing as we are too slow at times. I think the selection of the team was not balanced yesterday. Diaby was the main culprit as he kept giving the ball way and his passing was woeful. Van Persie was a passenger most of the time and Vela never featured. The only plus for us were Arshavin (yet again) and Bendtner in the 2nd half. Gallas picked up and Gibbs is doing a good job in the absence of Gael.
Please could anyone tell me why Arshavin had to wave back Gibbs when he came to celebrate with the team when we equalised? It was very disrespectful towards Gibbs who played a good and solid game. I hope he(arshavin) doesn't keep doing that!!
Fistly, the linesman allowed the goal, right or wrong its a goal although I believe the Keeper touched it. If Cesc spat at the coach then he should be punished. If this turns out to be a lie, then Horton should be punished by the FA and Brown needs to have the B***CKS to appologise on TV.
Lastly bring on Chelski, no fighting, headbutting diving or spiting!
i have never spat on anyone ha ha ha
Phile Brown seems to change the story as time goes on - I suggest he stays away from the sunbeds - they appear to have fried his brain!!
Booooooooooo Phil Brown. He is an Ediot.
We kicked his A*** .................. Great.
Hull where time wasting from the moment they scored to the moment they went behind...
If was well offside but this kind of thing happens and frankly I don't care...
I think Phil Brown let his club down last night with his comments i did respect him and Hull but i hope they get relegated now we dont want those pie eating Northeners at the Grove anymore
From the Fifa website, regarding the offside rule:
"A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by: * interfering with play
* interfering with an opponent
* gaining an advantage by being in that position.
According to the letter of the law, it was indeed offside, however that could only be ascertained from slow motion replays. Initially it looked as if the ball was solely touched by Myhill, therefore the hoohaa being made out of this is ridiculous and typical of the hacks that line this land in their droves.
As for Hull, you got what you deserved. Your total lack of ambition, of sporting pride was pathetic. Last night was not simply a victory for Arsenal, but a victory for football.
Phil Brown says "But for their club captain, Cesc Fabregas, to spit at my assistant manager at the end of the game just shows you what this club is all about". What this club is all about!!!!!, what this club is all about!!!! this club is all about tradition, this club is all about honour and dignity, and class, this club is all about success and achievement and quality, things that Phil Brown knows absolutely nothing about, that he will never, in a hundred years, come close to being a part of!
After that coat he wore the other day, i wouldn't have thought that he would have been in such a hurry to make a fool out of himself again.
As for Hull, when you beat us 2-1 earlier this year, i had nothing but good words for you. But your manager has just dragged the good name of your club down into the gutter. But from a guy schooled in 'anti-football' by the shitkicking king of cynicism Sam Allardyce, nobody should be too surprised.
And as for Brown's comments about Wenger influencing the referee, i invite you all to look at this, http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sports-news/You39re-a-disgrace-Brown-says.3763519.jp
Hypocrite initially springs to mind......
Oh, and before i go, is there a bigger cunt on this planet than Tim Sherwood???
Yeah, that's what i thought too!
i don't care if gallas goal was onside or offside. Riley gave his decision and we Gunners have won so that's it. These things happened before and will happen again. If anybody cant accept this so quit watching football@soccer and go watch Smackdown.
Arshavin wave off his teammates to let them go straight back to the game, keeping the momentum instead of lost in excitement. I was also quite surprised at first.
Offside or not we deserved the win!
And also to on d gooner...Arhavin did not celebrate because he was the only guy that realised there was more work to be done to win the game!!! Brilliant....that is what I call leading!! Too many times I have seen us score an equaliser and then waste too much time celebrating it as a win when we should in fact restart and push on for the win! Arshavin is worth every penny!!
Blatant sour grapes for phil brown...used to respect him..
shame on you fab, you could have smack both of them in the mouth, dont get me wrong I am not a violent person
yeh shavva
people say arshavin is like bergkamp, but he reminds me more of overmars with a hint of bergkamp
' On Phil Brown' - keep your mouth shut. your story is allready starting to lose sense not even 24 hours after the alleged incident. You have let your overperforming club down and showed a lack of dignity in defeat regardless of others. Your having a good season so far so just accept that not all decisions go your way.
'On the Referee' - Simply awful performence...the game was not allowed to flow due to a lack of dicsiplining of the hull team. Decisions were made late or not at all in most cases (how did it take you that long to book myhill...and then when you did he didnt want to take the freekick anymore...more timewasting)
'On the Game' - Awful game, not sure anyone deserved to win but at least we attempted to play some football. Much better second half. Second goal was quite probably offside but even the video replays cant be 100% sure.
'Starman' - well in my eyes it goes to two people...arshavin for showing the team the way forward...hard working and great touch. The second man i have a mention for is Bendtner...superb 25 mins. Helping create two goals...the first was soley down to his determination and touch...not arshavins clever cross at the papers make out.
THE GOAL WAS OFFSIDE. It was blatant BUT, it still STANDS, LOL. That made the night even better. Hull are not going to Wembley and we are going because of an offside goal. What are you going to do? Appeal to the FA, by all means. Take the video evidence from the Setanta team with you. All the best
Fucking hell, I've never seen fans of the winning team winge so much, soft southern fucks! Glad we didn't go through, i've had enough of coming down to your shithole of an immigrant town and Chelsea are nearly as bad as you lot! Fucking glad I don't support a team like yours, premadonna fuckwits and soft as shit.
DULL&PROUD, dont worry about making the trip to the emirates again. Relegation will sort that out quickly. Its Luton and Brighton and Hove you need to be worried about
